Parent Bulletin No.36
Dear Parent/Carer
The final GCSE exams concluded this week and I hope all our students in Year 10 and 11 have had a successful time. Results day is Thursday, 25th August; results can only be given to students. If they are unable to collect them on the day then please contact our Exams Officer, Mrs Exford to arrange for them to be emailed to the student’s Office 365 account.
I look forward to meeting up with Year 11 again on Thursday the 30th June for their Prom, at Flint Mountain Park Hotel from 7pm.
I am pleased to announce that after two years of not being able to offer work experience, Year 10 will be out of school next week on their placements. This will give them the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they are developing in the real world and hopefully learn some new ones. If there are any problems with placements then please contact us for support.
I have been asked to share some information which you will find attached to this letter. The first is a flyer for Mold Carnival on Sunday, 10th July. The second is promoting job opportunities with Newydd, who provide catering and cleaning services to schools in Flintshire.
Student Leaders
Year 10 students were interviewed this week for the positions of Student Leaders. The process required them to submit letters of application, give a presentation and attend a formal interview with myself, Miss Bennett and a Governor. The standard of entries was very high and it was incredibly tough to only appoint four, but I am delighted to announce the successful students are:
Jessica Evans
Lily Middleton
Amy Laird
Ellie Trueman
I look forward to working with them and the prefect team to ensure all students have a say in our school and to improve experiences for everyone.
Free School Meals during the exam period and summer holidays for school leavers.
Any Year 11 student who is entitled to a free school meal can still receive one while the exams are on. From 24th June to the 20th July, Flintshire will make a one off payment to entitled families. Payments will also continue during the school holidays.
