Parent Bulletin No.10

Dear Parent/Carer

I hope you and your family are well and looking forward to a pleasant weekend. Please find below the latest information from school.

Y11 Information Evening for Parents

All parents of Year 11 students will today receive an invite to a virtual presentation, for Thursday the 18 November at 6:00pm. I will be outlining our plan for how we will be preparing and supporting our students for exams this coming summer. How parents can support their children and what our contingency plans will be if the exams are cancelled. The session should last approximately 45 minutes and I hope you are able to join us.

Flu Immunisation Information

There is a letter alongside this newsletter from NHS Wales providing information for parents regarding the flu vaccine. The school nursing / immunisation team will visit school on the 14 December to offer all pupils a nasal spray flu vaccine. Consent forms will be distributed closer to the date and must be handed in to the nursing staff on the day of the immunisation and not the tutor or school office.

Children in Need

To support Children in Need we are holding a non-uniform day on Friday 19 November. Each tutor group is setting their own theme and there will be a competition for the best form. All students who take part are asked to donate £1 and there will be additional fundraising such as cake stalls during the day.

Healthy School Survey

Further to the correspondence you have already received please notify us if you do not want your child to participate in the survey. All students will be completing the survey at some point next week and we will use the information to plan improvements at school in line with our students’ views and opinions.

I hope you all have a pleasant weekend.

Yours faithfully

Mr P Smith
