Parent Bulletin No.28
Annwyl Parent/Carer
I hope you are looking forward to another long weekend. Students in years 7 and 8 have been decorating their form rooms to celebrate the Coronation this week and I have included some photos below. Students in Years 8 and 10 competed in the Flintshire Schools Athletics at Deeside Stadium yesterday. There were some outstanding performances by our athletes and I look forward to sharing the results next week.

Key Dates for Year 11
Year 11 are obviously in a very busy period, as their time with us draws to a close. I have already had very positive feedback from the Welsh department as to how well they did in their speaking exams last week.
Below are some key dates for your information. If any student needs another copy of their exam timetable please ask them to see Mrs Wynne or Miss Thomas in admin next week.
12th May – GCSEs begin
26th May – ROA Ceremony a detailed letter with further info will be sent next week
20th June – Final GCSE
22nd June – Yr 11 Prom at Chester Zoo
28th June – GCSE Contingency day – do not take students on holiday before this date
Governor Open Day
On Wednesday we welcomed a selection of school Governors, including our Chair, Mrs Pearce to view lessons, speak to the Student Council and sample the updated menu in our school dining room. This supports them in their role supporting and evaluating the progress school makes. Their Annual Report to Parents will be sent out shortly.

New Build Update
Following on from the Ministerial visit two weeks ago, I am delighted to announce that our new school has been awarded Best Education and Higher Education Project at the UK Partnership Awards last night. This is in recognition of the joint working between Welsh Government, FCC, WEPCO and our local community. I have included a recent photo below for you to see the progress to date.

I hope you all enjoy the festivities and celebrations over the Bank Holiday.
Cofion
Yours faithfully
Mr P Smith
