Parent Bulletin No. 37
Dear Parent/Carer
The number of recorded Covid 19 cases continues to rise in our area and Flintshire has recorded the highest number of cases in Wales.
Please encourage your children to be sensible over the weekend and I would advise them to only socialise with students from their class if they are going to socialise with peers, where possible.
Below is guidance I have received from TTP:
“We would advise that unwell pupils (all years) go for a PCR test if they have any of the extended symptoms of Covid. If any pupils have difficulty booking a PCR test they should explain that they have been instructed by a Contact Tracer to do so. Asymptomatic pupils (all years) we would advise take their LFTs and report through to school and upload any positives.”
At school, we continue to follow guidance to help reduce the transmission of the virus. I appreciate it is very frustrating when children have to self-isolate. My own child has been isolating all week and it is difficult to juggle work commitments with childcare. However, please have patience with us and I can assure you we are following Welsh Government operating guidance and advice from TTP.

Year 7 Parents Evening
The Year 7 Parents Evening will be held virtually this Tuesday from 3:30 – 6:00pm. Appointments can be made via the school website. If you cannot attend on Tuesday but would like an update then please email or phone teachers directly.
Non-uniform day fundraiser
We will be holding a non-uniform day on the last day of term to support fundraising for former pupil Lewis White. He is a remarkable young man who has had to endure so much in his life. I had the privilege of teaching Lewis while he was at Argoed and wish him and his family the best of luck. I will ask that pupils donate £1 on the non-uniform day and I have put a link below to Lewis’ justgiving page for you to read his story and if you wish, to donate.

Have a pleasant weekend everyone.
Yours faithfully
