English Department
In the English faculty our aim is to deliver a varied and challenging curriculum, providing opportunities to develop literacy skills, a love of reading and opportunities for creativity. We are a high achieving department where students consistently achieve their target grades in both English Language and Literature at GCSE. At Key Stage 3 learners build on the skills, knowledge and understanding acquired at Key Stage 2. Their progress is developed within an integrated and stimulating programme of speaking, listening, reading and writing. At Key Stage 4 learners build on the skills, knowledge and understanding acquired at Key Stage 3. Their progress continues to develop within an integrated and increasingly challenging programme of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Learners acquire, develop and use their skills in a widening range of contexts.
