An incredibly huge thank you to Laura Heywood @scentedgarden for this humongous donation of books to the school library. Lots of very popular authors and titles that will soon be reserved I’m sure. We are extremely grateful for your very generous continued support❤️📚⭐️@ArgoedHS

Parents Bulletin No. 6

Dear Parent/Carer

We launched our new website today. Within it is also a new prospectus and a virtual tour of the school. This is not just for prospective parents, but is a celebration of our pupils and their achievements. Please visit us at argoedhs.co.uk and follow us on twitter @argoedhs for all our latest updates.

As you may be aware there has been an increase in Covid cases in our area and several of our neighbouring schools have reported cases in the last week or two. It is highly likely that at some point we will have a positive case at school. In this instance we will be directed with our actions by Public Health Wales, but it is likely that the whole year group of the infected pupil will be told to self-isolate for two weeks. If that is the case then your child will continue their learning via Microsoft Teams and I anticipate we will follow their normal timetable with lessons being delivered online. In order for this to work your child will need access to the internet and an appropriate device. A smartphone will do but a laptop or tablet may be better. If you have any issues with this then please let us know urgently as we may be able to help.

On a brighter note. I attended a meeting today where it was confirmed that a contractor had been appointed to build our new school and the design process is under way. If everything goes smoothly then Flintshire hope to have the new building ready for September 2023. I hope you will agree that these are very exciting times and I am proud to be involved in the future of this fantastic school.

I hope you all have a pleasant weekend.

Best wishes
Paul Smith
